TEACHER INFORMATION
Teachers of all mainstream musical instruments make themselves available to teach at the studios of Hills GALAXY OF MUSIC. We pride ourselves on the professionalism and experience of teachers who use our studios. Hills GALAXY OF MUSIC is run by a family of musicians and colleagues who are committed to providing a service for the musical advancement of this area. All of our staff are available to work in schools, tutoring groups and ensembles for all types of musical endeavour.

Guitar. DARREN UNICOMB: Darren is our senior specialist guitar teacher. He has been playing guitar for 23 years and teaching at our studios since 1994. He plays acoustic and electric guitar in restaurant combos and has played lead guitar in various musical productions. He has done extensive work in local Primary Schools as a group guitar teacher, has conducted guitar workshops at High School Performing Arts camps as well as working with High School Jazz / blues bands. Darren Has just finished work on his bands first CD. Darren has also created a web page designed to help his students when there at home by providing guitar music and exercises to practice, as well as making himself available to his students anytime via email. Piano
and Keyboard.
SCOTT UNICOMB: Piano/Keyboards/Bass guitar from beginner upwards; Keyboard programming, sequencing etc. Scott has performed with artists such as James Belushi, David Dixon, Rhonda Burchmore, Barry Crocker, Don Lane and Nicky Bennett. He is a founding member of The Gotham City Horns, one of the most sought after functions bands in Australia. On the club scene he was a member of Mamajamma (a Dance band who released their first single which charted in Melbourne in 1999 and features musicians from the Human Nature, Bardot, Tina Arena and Paul Mac bands). He has appeared on TV and at major venues in Sydney, Queensland, Vanuatu, Indonesia and Japan. During the Olympic Games Scott and The Gotham City Horns played at prime venues including the Sports Illustrated functions, attended by celebrities from around the world.

| Singing
NARELLE UNICOMB: Initially training in Lismore, Narelle was a successful eisteddfod competitor in the Northern areas of New South Wales, as well as a sought after musical comedy performer in several companies, before studying with James Christenson of Brisbane Conservatoruim of Music. Performing leading soprano roles in Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas such as Pirates Of Penzance, HMS Pinafore etc, Narelle was in constant demand. She presented many recitals for the Catholic Diocese of Lismore, under the patronage of the Bishop. Since moving to Sydney in 1977 she has taught singing and has acted as vocal coach in many of her husband’s music theatre productions. She specialises in traditional vocal styles, and her students have been successful in talent quests as well as solo and choral work. She teaches all singing styles, from popular to music theatre and classical. AMEB exams are an option for students in Secondary School and above.

Woodwind.
PHIL PRYOR M.A: Clarinet, Saxophones and advanced jazz improvisation techniques. Phil is among the most popular jazz performers in Sydney. He has travelled extensively throughout the world, playing at major jazz festivals and other venues. He works with some of the most respected musicians in Australia including Ed Wilson, Col Nolan, Bob Barnard, Graeme Bell etc. Phil is currently freelancing with several groups in Sydney and the Southern Highlands. He recently toured New Zealand with the Hacienda Jazz Band, playing festivals in Napier and Rotarua. |

Flute.
CRAIG DICKMAN B Mus: A well qualified high school music teacher who taught at Model Farms High School for many years, Craig is now teaching at Windsor High School. After studying with the renowned flute teacher, Victor McMahon, Mr Dickman spent several years in the Royal Australian Navy Band and then joined the NSW Department Of Education. He is an outstanding flautist and saxophonist and we are proud to include him as one of our teachers.
